Introduction

• Prof. Yu got his master degree at the CS department of East China Normal University. He began to work in Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 1986. Now he is the vice president of the Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering, Ph.D. candidate tutor and the chairman of E-generation technology research center(SJTU-IBM-HKU). He has got several prizes for his scholarship.

• His research topic includes: web search, semantic search, P2P search, semantic web, ontology engineering and wireless applications. Here is a list of current projects, and a list of previous projects.

• He was the teacher of the course "Computer Graphics and Human-machine Interface" and the course "Next Generation Web Infrastructure" before. He has also got several prizes for his distinguished teaching career.
• As the head coach of SJTU ACM-ICPC team, he and his team have won the 2002 and 2005 ACM ICPC Championships and made SJTU the only world champion team of the contest in Asia.
