Short Biography:
I am currently a PhD student in the APEX Lab of the Dept. of Computer Science and Engineering at the Shanghai JiaoTong University. Before pursuing my PhD study, I was a research member in the IBM China Research Lab and I worked there for one and a half year. Before that, I got my B.S. and M.S. degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the Shanghai JiaoTong University.
I was one of the members of the SJTU's team competing in the 1998 world final of the 22nd ACM ICPC. Our team won the 11th place that year. Later on, I participated the 24th ACM ICPC in 2000 as SJTU team's technical advisor and our team won the Bronze Medal (7th place). In 2002, at the 26th ACM ICPC,SJTU's team won the World Champion !
Research Interests:
My current research interests include the Semantic Web theory and technologies, Semantic Search, Semantic Portal, and Ontology based Knowledge Management. My PhD dissertation is about Semantic Search.
Projects
* ORIENT - I worked on the ORIENT project which tries to provide both theory and tool support for the entire Ontology Engineering Process, including building, visualization, versioning, mapping, merging and evaluation. The project is supported by the IBM China Research Lab.
* XML data translation and transportation - I also work for this project which is part of a key national 863 high tech project (NO.2002AA4Z3430) about web-based database services.
